San Francisco Dreaming

San Francisco Dreaming for the rest of my life. I’ve never been to San Fran until recently. I jetted in for a quick trip which was the best 24 hours I’ve experienced in a while. Possibly the most expensive, adventurous and luckiest 24 hours, as well.

When given the opportunity to travel solo, I take full advantage and make the most out of it because I rarely get away. I landed in San Francisco, checked into the beautiful Fairmont and they welcomed me by telling me they overbooked and had updated me to the Plazza Suite. It was bigger than my previous condo. Gorgeous with an insane view.

The concierge recommended a contemporary Japanese- Sushi and Sake Bar, Ozumo. Japanese, Sushi, + Sake are always top of mind when given the choice. The atmosphere was fun, lots of good looking thirty and forty somethings. Lots of sake choices and overall a fun vibe. I ordered the right side of the menu, Dohyo- Tuna Tartare, Shacho- Lobster Sushi and a garlic, soy Edamame. I met the owner of the restaurant and somehow, scored (another freebie) Fondue dessert. Fantastic dinner!

I didn’t have long on day two so, again, the Fairmont concierge had a fabulous recommendation that I get a driver so that I could see the city. I took him up on it and packed in as much site seeing in a half day. We started by driving down the crooked street. Talk about the prettiest street in the world. I don’t know how those that live there make it function for their lifestyle but it is such a pretty site.

Next, we stopped at Fisherman’s Wharf and then to Chestnut near the Marina for brunch at Squat and Gobble. What a name! I was a little nervous until I walked in. Freshly squeezed mimosas, the best salmon crepeEVER. Just me and the locals… After that, we made a pit stop at The Apothecaruim. You’ll have to look that one up. …. …. …. Those blueberries tho.

Afterwards, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge to see the view. Breathtaking! The view is stunning! Somewhere in between we drove downtown and past China Town. There’s so much more to see which means, I have to go back this year to finish my rounds…. with my hubs.
